Painting is my passion. And pastel is my favorite medium - in fact, the only
medium for me. I love the brilliant colors and the wonderful effects that can be
achieved. No other medium is as exciting or as effective in portraying the
boldness and the strong contrasts I aim to portray in my paintings, which range
from structures and still lifes to landscapes and figures.
Although my passion for art first emerged when I was only seven and continued
throughout school and college, I packed it away for decades while raising
children and pursuing a career. In 2004 I was able to begin painting seriously. Since then, my paintings have been accepted in many juried shows,
received a number of awards, and are included in public and private collections.
In addition to membership in Southern Colours, I am a juried member of the
Southeastern Pastel Society and the Degas Pastel Society, a merit member of
Atlanta Artists Center, and a member of ART Station. I am represented in north
Georgia by Turning Leaf Fine Art Gallery in Blue Ridge.
